Curcumin is the active compound that is found within the turmeric root (Curcuma longa), part of the ginger family
What’s the difference between curcumin and turmeric?
Turmeric is the original source of curcumin. Curcumin is the primary curcuminoid (of 3) within turmeric and the most active ingredient. Turmeric contains around 3% curcuminoids and therefore one teaspoon of turmeric powder (about 5,000 mg) provides only about 150 mg of curcuminoids.
So should I choose turmeric or curcumin?
Curcumin is considered the most active ingredient in turmeric. Both have similar properties but many of the health benefits of turmeric come from curcumin, so the more curcumin you take, the more effective it is for you.
Why is your product better than the ones currently on the market?
We have 95% purity and 495mg of curcumin per capsule, this is higher than most of the market. We also have special slow release capsules to ensure they reach your intestine, for better absorption.
How much should I take?
We recommend taking 1 - 2 tablets per day.
Where does it come from?
Our turmeric is grown and curcumin extracted in India, the home of turmeric.
What does delayed release mean?
Our capsules are able to make it through your stomach and into your intestine, where it can be absorbed. This is important to make sure you are actually able to gain the benefits.
What is piperine and why do you include it?
Curcumin alone is poorly absorbed in the body, but black pepper contains the bioactive compound piperine which boosts the absorption of curcumin.
