Helps With Anxiety


Curcumin, the bioactive compound found in turmeric and what gives it its bright colour, has been linked to treating anxiety and depression. Research has suggested that this may possibly be due to the fact that curcumin boosts serotonin and dopamine levels.

To be specific, these are the chemicals in the brain that are linked to mood and produce feelings of happiness.


Dopamine plays a huge part in helping us to feel motivated, so when they are low it makes it harder for us to have a positive outlook in life, harder to get a good night’s sleep. which in turn could potentially lead you to anxiety.

Helps With Brain Aging


Brain ageing is a normal progression in life, but it can be helpful to find ways to try and prevent it from worsening and curcumin can be one of them. It nourishes and protects the brain in a variety of ways.

It also boosts cognition. It reduces brain fog and improves your memory and concentration by increasing blood flow to the brain leaving you with one less thing you have to worry about.

Although you may think that you don’t require curcumin because you don’t suffer from anxiety or have brain fog of any kind, why would you not want to benefit from something that can only improve your mental health rather than worsen it?


Research by UCLA has shown that curcumin can improve mood. “Those taking curcumin also had mild improvements in mood, and their brain PET scans showed significantly less amyloid and tau signals in the amygdala and hypothalamus than those who took placebos. The amygdala and hypothalamus are regions of the brain that control several memory and emotional functions”

In short, as you have probably heard, eating a healthy diet and getting exercise, be it from your living room tv, is the best way to improve your mental health, but that doesn’t mean that turmeric can’t be hugely beneficial for both your mental and physical health, keeping you at your best at all times!
